Younger brother
Laziness and choices;
How often do you wake up without any voices in your head? like just like that., no right... a voice pops in hey! wake up, you have got so much to do today, there comes another voice, no there's so much time left just keep your eyes close. So you are now left with a choice. What would you choose over always?
- Why a man becomes lazy?
- What does laziness do to your body?
Before anything, there is huge difference between a procrastinator and a lazy man.
The first one postpones the work according to his own agility and eventually does finish the job and the second one skips the work as much efforts are required and apt for the lesser effort consuming job. So you are now lucky, you can defy if somebody calls you lazy though you have finished your job. lol.!
A man becomes lazy when he continuously postpones the work but ultimately doesn't finish it. Here's where a procrastinator and the lazy man fall into same equation where they lack the motivation. Motivation is like appetite. You need have good appetite to poop and pee to keep the cycle going.
"A lazy man with great dreams is like having diarrhea with great appetite".
- There are so many things that a man looks for motivation. But what if his purpose is not fulfilling him where he is left with no gratification? A doctor gets gratified by the life that he saved, a builder gets gratified by looking at the building he's constructed and so on. Therefore to a man not to become lazy its very must that he certainly is fulfilling his purpose.
- Laziness will send us to early grave. You have nothing to work on. All your happy hormones decrease- dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, endorphins. Your neurotransmitters doesn't function and all will be left are distractions with no focus and zero goals. There you are a living grave.
- it may be even because of hopelessness where you fear for the result and give up at the very beginning.
To begin something new- starting with full-stops, fearing the result, what is it more important? the result or fear? Its your choice again.
Fear is always hopeless but the result is something which you will never stop dreaming about if you have true passion towards it. So don't succumb to fear but hope for the result.
People have poor calculator as well. Today they binge-eat, drink indiscriminately not thinking about long term consequences not even about next days hangover but just focusing on short term pleasures.
Ancient philosopher Epicurus quoted
"Not everything that is pleasurable should be pursued, and not everything that is painful should be avoided".
Its very important in my view to do "the window staring", in that way you can preserve your energy observe nature, get inspired and think how to spend your energy today. But yeah that staring shouldn't make you pass into sleep though.
Our nomadic ancestors had to conserve energy to compete for scarce resources and to fight or flee enemies and predators. Expending effort on anything other than short-term advantage could jeopardize their very survival.
But in our generation the laziness and idleness has got to do with "the mobile staring", you just sit and stare at your feed in social media of others productiveness. It ain't bad but for long hours where you are not getting productive is where you will lack gratification for yourself and fall in the demotivated cycle.
In Ayurveda, laziness is often because of increase in Kapha Dosha. It has got soothing, nourishing, and cooling properties when in balanced state. When in unbalanced state it leads you to binge-eat, under-exercise, weight gain, sitting like a sloth in just one place eventually leading to many pathophysiological cases.
On a short note; If you feel you are always tired, very fatigue it doesn't mean that you fall into lazy category. You shouldn't be so judgmental on yourself.
There are many causes that makes you fatigue very soon like anemic condition, thyroid issues, mental depression etc. Being quick enough to check on yourself before you do it on others is very important.
Desire will lead you to gratification without thinking twice about planning, postponing, preparing and so forth.
"you are what you eat,you are what you think of,you are what you decide for,you are what your choices are,but before
you are what you propose yourself into"
